Cult director and genius artist of many dimensions Alejandro Jodorowsky returns to cinema with his profound new work Endless Poetry. Following 2014’s autobiographical Dance of Reality, we witness the life of young Alejandro (Adan Jodorowsky) as becomes a poet, to the consternation of his strict father and opera-singing mother (Brontis Jodorwosky & Pamela Flores, reprising their remarkable roles). Alejandro ventures into Santiago’s colorful nightlife, meeting the writers and artists that will change his life forever — while the real Alejandro appears throughout, guiding his younger self and the audience on this journey whose inevitability is brought into question. Despite the film’s wild visual imagination, it is not meant as mere spectacle, but a psychomagical act by Jodorowsky allowing him to heal his wounds, thus demonstrating to us how we might do so, too.
